Last week Ray, Archer, and Cyril were flying off in to the sky, as they had just escaped the jungle. Only concern was where they would land, what could go wrong? This week we see the story line go further, and we catch back up with the Malory back at headquarters. Keep reading to see our thoughts on this weeks episode.
With that being said, Spoiler’s do lie below. If you don’t want to spoil it, I suggest you come back after you have watched the episode On The Carpet.
We open up to an unusual scene, a very dark scene, where anger is abundant. We see Malory sitting in her chair, rocking a fur, and drink some alcohol. Fitting with this attitude, it appears to be a stormy night as well. Then we see what she sees, at first its normal most of the staff looking somewhat okay, then we point in on Archer, Ray, and Cyril. While all of them appear to be shivering and quite cold, Archer has chosen a much harder drink then what the other two appear to be drinking. It appears Malory is looking for answers, she is quite angry and nearing the end of her strings. Then we cut to the great opening titles, which changes up the music and tone, even if just for a few minutes.
One thing we are left pondering for is answers, how did they get back to headquarters, where is the plane? We will soon find out, is the feeling we go under. Before we get those answers, Pam has an idea to solve Cherlene not wearing any top. It appears she was dressed this way, for the album cover shoot that was going on before. This sequence starts the comedy essence of the episode. Back to Malory, she is looking for the 100 kilos of cocaine. Archer then announces they stole a plane with twice as much cocaine and it didn’t go to plan. We already knew that fuel was low, now we know it is even lower. The result and answer to this problem, is to dump the weapons, which wasn’t really thought through. They are then forced to land, at the strip where the Colombians where originally planning to land.
Ray successfully glides the plane in, after they had to dump some weight. They land and notice an airfield, that is populated by plenty of men with guns. Entering the scene we have our guest star Christian Slate, playing Slater. His character is a very mysterious drug dealer, working with a trade. Archer then gets to infiltrate the gang, by his persona Rando. Slater wasn’t to happy to see him, as he gets bean bagged pretty hard. Archer uses his quick thinking skills to give Slater some good answers and explains that they are new the delivery men. They then are sent on their next mission, which appears to be delivering the goods to Calderon. This explains how they ended back with the whole gang, to ask Malory what they should do. The goods are no longer cocaine, but they are a ton of weapons.
Then we learn about Gustavo Calderon, played by Fred Armisen, who is the dictator of the Central American nation of San Marcos. This is who the weapons should be going to and they will pay. It turns out that San Marcos is currently in a civil war and it appears Gustavo Calderon is at the center of it. We see that the United States cares about this power trouble, they might have something to do with the weapons, thus could Slater be working for the government specifically the CIA.
Then we learn this might be the best option for money, is cocaine might be hard to find. Kreiger has had a side project, the “Red Kreigtober” a narko submarine, which is undetectable by the cost guard. Only issue is he built-in in the pool, unable to leave the room, in disgust he decided to destroy it. Unknown to everyone else, that submarine was built by cocaine. Pam seems to be the most upset over cocaine almost being gone. Malory has some very dark thoughts and she appears to be upset, lingering back to her thoughts on how the government took everything. Now, they are in the Arms Dealing business and Country Music business. She then informs everyone that she dinner with Ron and they are giving their marriage another chance, plus having an open marriage. Which leads to Ron calling Cherlene and then consequently Pam, which leads to a phenomenal laughter filled ending. Next week, we will see how the story line progresses and the beginning of the arms dealing business, for who knows maybe Archer is heading to San Marcos?
