Misfit is kicking off the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show by unveiling its latest device yet. Introducing the Misfit Ray Fitness and Sleep Monitor, it is what the company calls there most versatile tracker yet. It takes a clear design step away from the Shine series, as instead of a circle, it now looks more like a wristlet and other activity trackers. But the key feature here is that the Misfit Ray, is modular. It is not just a bracelet, but the Misfit Ray can also be a necklace depending on how you want to wear it.
The Misfit Ray Fitness and Sleep Monitor is just 12 millimeters in diameter and only 38 millimeters long. It is quite compact and has a cylindrical aluminum body that can be worn in a Misfit branded accessory or a custom accessory. The Ray can be worn in either a bracelet or a necklace format depending on what accessory you choose to go for.
Similar to the Shine 2, the Misfit Ray vibration motor inside that allows for subtle feedback, that is only noticed by the user wearing it. Similar to the haptic feedback that is on the Apple Watch. On the Misfit Ray it will provide inactivity nudges, text and call notifications, and even a silent alarm. The technology for tracking is a 3-axis accelerometer and the device has one LED light on it. It is water-resistant up to 50 meters and has a user replaceable battery that should last around 6 months. Misfit Ray is compatible with Misfit Link, which turns the activity tracker into a connect home control.
The Misfit Ray Fitness and Sleep Monitor will come in your choice of Rose Gold and Carbon Black, it is available for pre-order now and will start at $99.99. The Misfit Ray should begin to ship in the Spring of this year.
