Disney’s next film in the Star Wars franchise finally has a trailer, that is right, the company has dropped the first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. While this film does not fit in with main story line, it is Disney’s first spinoff film for the franchise as a whole. Rogue One fits in as a precursor to the first film, in that the events taking place happen right before it.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will tell the story of resistance fighters trying to steal plans for the Death Star. The main rebel in this group, Jyn Erso, has a unique attitude and acknowledges she is fighting back. Jyn Erso is played by Felicity Jones and will be a central character in the film.
It appears that Rogue One is taking the sci-fi series into a different direction, one with more action. For instance imaging fighting an AT-AT on foot, it would be a pretty impressive duel to say the least. It is being directed by Gareth Edwards who is taking inspiration from films like Saving Private Ryan. In the past Edwards has been a part of Godzilla and Monsters to just a name a few titles.
This will likely be the first trailer of many for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which will be in theaters this coming December.
