In response to Verizon’s surprise unlimited plan announcement this past Sunday, T-Mobile is firing back. Moreover, they are doing it in the usual fashion, as CEO John Legere took to Twitter to improve T-Mobile One with taxes and fees included. The carrier is adding in 10GB of 4G LTE hotspot and HD video streaming.
Currently, on T-Mobile One you get an unlimited 3G hotspot, so this will be an improvement to a full 10GB of 4G LTE. Verizon offers this as well, plus they offer HD video streaming. Essentially Verizon is not doing anything with the stream that is coming through; it just shows it as the stream is sent. T-Mobile is doing the same and is removing the 480p stream.
Even better, T-Mobile is getting rid of the HD day passes, which can be purchased or were available through the One Plus option. This means that come Friday, T-Mobile will offer unlimited HD streaming, that doesn’t go against your data allotment. Similarly to Verizon, T-Mobile will show the content at the rate it comes in.
T-Mobile’s One updates will be launching this Friday, February 17th, 2017.
