The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge might be close to a year old, but that doesn’t stop Samsung from updating the devices. Samsung has released Secure Folder for both the S7 and S7 Edge; This new application provides another layer of security for the devices.
Secure Folder is based on the Samsung Knox security platform and allows you to have an encrypted section your smartphone. This folder is stored separately and in a more secure way, plus any documents or applications stored in this section are quite secure. On the user side of things, a PIN, pattern, passcode or biometric verification is required to access what it is in the folder.
You can store documents and applications in the Secure Folder by moving these items into the folder or by adding files from inside the folder itself. For additional security, you can have the Secure Folder only accessible from the control panel. While Secure Folder is currently limited to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, Samsung will be expanding its availability soon.
