Ozobot just unveiled their new Space Islands Play Pack, a new way to play with their Evo robot. This Play Pack is a choose-your-own-adventure board game that adds a storytelling twist to the Evo bot’s educational power. Inspired by thousands of teachers and students who used their creativity to expand Evo’s reach, Ozobot designed the Space Islands Play Pack to make their critically renowned robot even more engaging for students of all ages.
The Space Islands Play Pack creates a story that brings coding to life, starring your Evo robot and the Evo app. As you build your game world, you meet many different characters and learn many coding essentials along the way. The game’s ending is determined by the player, which means there are plenty of choices and twists to keep any student engaged, and the storytelling slant will appeal to students that might otherwise not have been interested in code.
The Evo is a tiny robot that is compatible with iOS and Android devices. It is designed to teach kids how to code, and it can be coded using the Evo app, which contains beginner- to advanced-level coding lessons using Ozobot’s OzoBlockly drag-and-drop code editor. (Kids can view the raw text JavaScript for an even closer look at the inner workings of programming.) Evo can also be coded using “Color Code,” which can be created using marker and paper. Color Code brings coding to life in an incredibly creative and hands-on way, and it is accessible for kids of all ages.
Evo is available now, and the Evo Starter Kit will launch in Q3 of 2018 at a retail price of $89.
