Something something Danja Zown! : Baby Shower (S5,E6) Review

Season 5 of Archer is in full swing and now we get episode 6. The phenomenal Kenny Loggins is the special guest this week. This week we have Archer Vice: Baby Shower, which picks up after last weeks episode. Were we learned that Cherlene doesn’t perform encores. Keep reading to see our thoughts on this weeks episode.

With that being said, Spoiler’s do lie below. If you don’t want to spoil it, I suggest you come back after you have watched the episode Baby Shower.

It seems that Pam and Archer have become closer since their last experiences. But I guess almost being robbed by bikers and getting hit by a tour bus, can lead to some deeper thoughts. This time we pick up during the latest recording session by Cherlene, but it appears Lana is interrupting on there “golden hour” recording time. This first joke, gives you a hint at what is to come, which might just be the funniest episode yet. If there is one thing we learn, is that Cherlene has to be happy, as this will lead to Mallory getting paid. At the same time we hear here unique tips for becoming a mother. By the way the band features Pam on guitar, Archer on a jug, and Woodhouse on the drums.

Money is still tight, very tight, as no money is coming in, Mallory takes away “Eggs Woodhouse” and Pam’s cocaine donuts. But she is the one who fills us in on Dr.Krieger’s cocaine selling online business. Ray decides to remind everyone that Lana is pregnant and that a baby shower is in order, this is quite the idea. Archer and Mallory then start giving out the orders. Pam and Archer then get put on the team together and they decide to delegate. Although he passes off the heavy lifting to Woodhouse and Archer and Pam now have the important task.

Yes, they want Kenny Loggins to play the baby shower, “Danger Zone”. Pam uses her smart talking to figure out where Mr.Loggins is located. This leaders to Archers suit getting ruined and then him being tasered, not once, but twice. Then they hatch a plan, that is destined to succeed, they each take on the role of a maid and a room service employee. We see some great relationship bonding begin to start between Pam and Archer. While this is happening Ray is trying to explain the “dirty diaper game” to Cyril. The Lana asks for her money due to the pregnancy, Mallory suggests “wick” which should provide a “birth cheese” for her.

Back at the hotel Archer just dropped a couple of hundred dollars on intel and disguises, then Pam reminds her that Cherlene owns the hotel. They can’t seem to figure out the correct plan to follow or listen to each other. They enter the room and see Kenny Loggins trying to do some re-branding to K-Log. We then see the story line progress and K-Log begins to show off his feisty side. There cover is blown and the fighting issues and Kenny has a pretty interesting brief case and Ricky can fight, but not very well with Pam.

It then appears to Loggins that Archer has nothing to do with Borgnard and that the brief case is not in danger, although he is about to be. Archer still counts bullets, a unique trait that has helped him. As Pam decides to fire her weapon, which cracks what might be the both best and worst location for a pool. That location being the penthouse balcony, but as Cherlene put it the men want it, so it happens. Then “one of one fairly particular thing will happen” and Archer saves Kenny Loggins as he is about to fall of the pool. The true reason for him being there is unveiled and Loggins asks him to let everything go and want to make it up to him.

We then get to witness one of the most amazing baby showers in history, Cherlene gets a major duet with Kenny Loggins, singing “Danja Zown”. Lana enters the room as she did before, with quite the scream, and then gets many different presents. Mallory gives her a lot and Woodhouse helps Archer give her an actually thoughtful present, he crib that he used as a baby. Although Archer still feels that Kenny Loggins is the best present, but she doesn’t really know him from that song. Krieger turns out was telling the cocaine to him self and Woodhouse upsets him as well, that two people in the span of like five minutes. Thus concludes the best episode of Season 5 of Archer yet and I leave with you this; “Something something Danja Zown!”
