Blue Spark has just unveiled the TempTraq at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show and will be showing it off throughout the week.

While it has been announced and is debuting at CES 2015, the product is still pending FDA premarket review. TempTraq is a new type of thermometer, a single use patch that can transmit the data over Bluetooth to an iOS or Android application. It uses Blue Spark’s patented printed flexible battery, this battery will last for a full 24 hours. The TempTraq is a single use thermometer, that comes in the form of a wearable patch. It can connect with the smartphone application up to 40 feet away from the patch. It can monitor temperatures between between 86.0°F and 108.3°F, it will show you the data on a real-time feed or in a historical chart as well. You can receive push notifications when the temperature gets too high or too low. Blue Spark has also implemented an easy-to-follow colors system; Green is less than 100.4°F; orange is equal to or greater than 100.4°F; red is equal to or above the user-set temperature level.

Via the TempTraq application you can note what medication or what food the child has taken at each temperature level. You can send the recorded information and data via the application to doctors and family members. You can also monitor multiple children who have the TempTraq via the application. As of now there is now pricing or availability for the TempTraq as they are still awaiting FDA approval. Blue Spark Unveils First-of-Its-Kind Wearable Bluetooth Thermometer and App at 2015 Consumer Electronics Show

Wireless Thermometer in the Form of a Soft, Comfortable Patch Continuously Monitors Body Temperature, Sends Temperature Alerts to Mobile Devices; FDA 510(K) Pending

CLEVELAND—TempTraqTM, powered by Blue Spark Technologies, is at the forefront of combining innovative, cutting-edge technology and design that today’s busy parents crave. The company’s flagship product is the only wearable intelligent Bluetooth® thermometer in the form of a soft patch that continuously and comfortably monitors body temperature for 24 hours.

Making its debut at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show and pending FDA premarket review, TempTraq is truly a new frontier in digital thermometers. TempTraq is powered by Blue Spark Technologies’ patented, printed flexible battery and includes a free downloadable Apple or Android compatible app, allowing users to reach a new level of health care for children of all ages, and even adults.

“TempTraq allows parents to keep a close watch on their child’s temperature without having to continually disturb them,” said John Gannon, president and CEO of Blue Spark Technologies. “Our wireless, wearable thermometer gives parents peace of mind and their children the rest they need to get better. It’s the only way to monitor a sick child.”

All users have to do is press the “start” button to activate the thermometer and connect it to the app via the unique code provided. As long as the caregiver is within range of the thermometer, they can easily review data and receive alerts, up to 40 feet away. They then apply the thin, flexible patch thermometer to the underarm of the child, similar to an adhesive bandage.

Highly accurate, the TempTraq thermometer measures temperatures between 86.0°F and 108.3°F. Unlike other available devices that provide users with only one point of data and offer no continuous monitoring or alerts, the TempTraq app displays both real time and historical temperature data transmitted from the patch in graphical or tabular view, making it possible for caregivers to see fluctuations and quickly adapt treatment.

TempTraq further simplifies the temperature reading process by providing easy-to-follow colors that indicate temperature levels: Green, less than 100.4°F; orange, equal to or greater than 100.4°F; red, equal to or above the user-set temperature level. Caregivers can even receive alerts when a child’s temperature enters this designated red zone.

For parents who want to share temperature data with their doctors or family members, TempTraq allows users to send recorded information via email. Through the app, parents can also keep track of when their child eats, drinks or takes medicine. For those caring for multiple children, the TempTraq app conveniently allows them to monitor multiple thermometers simultaneously.
