Verizon is entering the connected car market with a new service that combines a OBD sensor, a Bluetooth speaker, and a smartphone application. Introducing Verizon Vehicle, which was unveiled today at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It is a new way to let you turn your old automobile into a connected car. It will be landing in the Second Quarter of 2015, more specifically it will begin shipping on April 10th. It is a subscription based service that will let your monitor you car and more.
Verizon Vehicle has an array of features, for instance it can provide GPS tracking, One Button Emergency Assistance, Maintenance Alerts, and more. In fact it has a Automatic Urgent Incident Alert System built-in, this is similar to what OnStar offers. It can also help your find your vehicle and let you know how much time you have left via Parking & Meter Tools. The Verizon Vehicle service sound very interesting and I cannot wait to check it out. It is available for pre-order now from www.verizonvehicle.com. They are running a special offer which will waive the first month charge, then for one car it will be $14.99 a month but if you add another car it will only be another $12.99 a month.
