First NBC and Jimmy Fallon, decided to do a live Tonight Show right after the Super Bowl, but then immediately following that they brought the show back to Los Angeles. This is the first road trip back to where the show lived for many years, and with that it brought some big ratings and created great memories. In fact when shooting from LA, it gained a 27% increase verses the first-quartered market household average for Monday through Thursday. Throughout the week, the show had many great guests like Neil Young, Vin Diesel, Ellen DeGeneres, and Will Smith.
The week opened up with another viral video, something that the digital team at The Tonight Show has become known for, they made their own version of The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air opening and told the story of bring the The Tonight Show back to LA. This was a highlight of the entire week and has racked up over 8 million views. The week also included a new photo bomb skit, a mom and pop Grammy quiz, and a new Brian Williams rap. This new rap is coming at the same time, that Mr. Williams has a scandal going on and is taking a few days from NBC Nightly News.
Later in the week, The Tonight Show reunited the cast of Saved By The Bell, which is even more viral with over 24 Million views on YouTube. The shows latest road trip to Los Angeles was great and will most likely encourage more people to continue tuning in nightly to NBC, which I recommend doing. The show had its highest Monday through Thursday Rating in 11 Months in the Local People Meters, plus it average a 3.3 rating and delivered its highest rating Thursday in 11 months.
The road trip to Los Angeles was great and it will be interesting to show how they top in the coming weeks. You can see a gallery of photos from the week below!
