Drones are not just for adults and older kids anymore, at CE Week 2015 Nerf was showing off drones designed especially for children and just like they have announced their entry into the drone market. Nerf has decided to make a big one and a little one, but they both have similar elements. Introducing the Recon Drone and the Air Defender, both launching later this year, just in time for the holiday season.
The Recon Drone is the smaller of the two and has an estimated retail cost of $99. It around 5.25 inches wide and the same 5.25 inches are the length; it is the more portable one out of the two in that it can fit in your hand. It features for blades or propellers for life that are in the signature Nerf colors. To capture the ride, you get a 16.1 megapixel camera that can record video in HD. Most likely, you will be able to get the footage off of the Recon Drone via micro USB cable.
The larger Air Defender has many of the same features, and few other ones. It comes in at $149.99 and will feature 32 LEDs around the device, making it optimal to fly during the day and at night. Plus, you get the 16.1 megapixel HD camera, but you can live stream the video to your smart device, this will most likely be done using an application. Both the Recon Drone and Air Defender are unique entries into the drone market and will be coming later this year.
