Petcube makes the Petcube Camera that lets you watch, talk, and play with your pet from everywhere you are. The product itself has a built-in camera and a laser pointer on board. Today, they are introducing Petcube Protect which is a cloud based subscription service for the Camera.
The Protect service is a natural growing step for the product itself, it will be launching in Spring of 2016. Customers will subscribe monthly to get 10 or 30 days of video history, advanced motion sensing, sound detection capabilities, notification alerts, and a new auto-play mode for the interactive laser toy. By offering these sever ices and advancing the capabilities of the product, it provides pet owners with a larger piece of mind. The length of the video history will depend on which subscription plan you go for.
Petcube has not yet announced pricing for Petcube Protect, but it should be coming closer to the launch in the Spring of this year. As for the rest of 2016, Petcube plans to expand its international footprint, after all they just launched over the holiday season in the United States. The Petcube Camera itself retails for $199 and is available from Best Buy, Brookstone, Nordstrom, and direct from Petcube.com
