Samsung is back and this year they are revealing an incredibly impressive 2016 SUHD TV lineup. As the company put it, they are ready to begin a new decade of global TV leadership, which might just happen after all, they have been the number one TV maker worldwide for the past 10 years.

The 2016 SUHD TVs are not just a small update to the home entertainment lineup, but they offer an impressive and unparalleled picture quality that is packed with new technology. Just to name a few these TV’s are packing Quantum dot displays, a bezel less design for a curved TV, and a brand new smart user interface.

Let’s start off by taking about Quantum dot displays, what are they exactly? Exclusive to the 2016 SUHD lineup are cadmium-free, 10-bit displays, which offer the most true-to-life visuals. The TVs know the environment they are in and are designed to deliver an optimum viewing experience, regardless of the lighting in the room. Quantum dot displays enable stunning brights and darks, along with superb colors and stark contrasts.

High Dynamic Range or HDR has been a big topic during the 2016 CES and Samsung is not skipping out on it. This years SUHD TVs will provide a high dynamic range experience with 1,000 nit HDR minimum. This delivers a higher level of contrast between light and dark images. With Ultra Black technology on board you can expect a large reduction in light reflection, which pushes the quality of the image further while creating minimal glare.

Samsung SUHD TVs have a smart platform that is built on the Tizen operating system. For 2016 users will get a whole new Smart Hub that is designed to give them what they want in a very simple format, putting their favorite content in one place. From the home screen you will be able to access Live TV, over the top content, games, and more. In fact you will be able to access the home screen and your favorite programing right when your turn the TV on. No longer will you have to go through menu after menu to find your favorite content.

With EXTRA Service you will be able to push the EXTRA button and see information related to the content you are watching. Plus, built into the Smart Hub will be games, with access to PlayStation Now. This platform includes title like The Lego Move, Batman Arkham Origins, and many others.

Smart View will now be supported on more then just Galaxy devices, the Samsung Smart View app will be coming to all of Android, iOS, and Windows PCs. From the app you will be able to begin the entertainment experience right on your phone. When we think of UHD content, we might not be sure were to get it. Samsung Smart Hub will let you access UHD streaming titles from providers like Amazon, M-GO, Netflix, and YouTube.

Along with the new Smart Hub, is the Smart Control Remote which is the remote that will replace all remotes. The Smart Control Remote will atomically recognize the set-top-box, game console, OTT box, and home theater system connected to the TV. No setup will be required and you can use one remote to control all of your devices.

Not only will you have smart features in the 2016 SUHD TVs, but your TV will feature IoT hub technology, and it will work directly with SmartThings. From your TV you will be able to lock your doors or see who is ringing the doorbell.

Four years ago the first curved TV’s were coming to market and today, Samsung is introducing the world’s first bezel-less Curved TV. The KS9500 SUHD TV will be a sight to be seen, and it will provide the most immersive experience on the market. Usually the bezel acts as a border and can be a distraction to the viewer, by removing the bezel the viewers attention will focus in on what is on the screen. Furthermore, Samsung took it a step further and wanted to eliminate all distractions, even by removing the screws from the rear of the TV.

It has a sleek curved front design and will fit right in with the 2016 SUHD TV lineup. In the United States it will be landing in March of 2016 and is available for pre-order now from Samsung. The  UBD-K8500 will deliver an immersive and spectacular picture quality when paired with the new lineup, but it will also provide built-in upscaling for normal Blu-rays and DVDs. Samsung is also working with it’s partners in Hollywood to ensure that Ultra HD Blu-rays with HDR picture quality will be coming to market. Later this year, Twentieth Century Fox will be releasing over 30 4K Ultra HD HDR discs, including popular films like The Martian and Peanuts.
