Everything is becoming connected at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show, including appliances like a toaster and even cities. But AT&T and Ford are teaming up to add a WiFi Hotspot to Sync Connect. This Fall select vehicle with Sync Connect will have this capability.
This is yet another way to stay connected in the car, and this is not AT&T’s first time powering the hotspot in a vehicle. The hotspot will be using AT&T’s 4G LTE network and will support up to 10 devices to be connected. Directly from the Sync touch screen, you will be able to see devices connected, monitor the network, and see the data used.
The Ford Vehicle WiFi Hotspot can be added existing AT&T data plan, or you can get a standalone data plan for the hotspot. To use the WiFi hotspot, your 2018 Ford Vehicle must have the correct hardware.
