Motorola already unveiled the Moto X Style and Moto X Play, but today they are also updating the Moto G. Introducing the new Moto G which is available today and starts at just $179. It is the biggest rollout out ever the device and is launching in over 60 countries throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Motorola’s goal with the Moto G is to deliver a premium package at a value price and it seems that might have just done that with the new Moto G.
Motorola under Lenovo has been the Motorola yet, and with the Moto G they have made key updates to the device. For starters, you get an IP67 rating now, which means it can handle some water. It comes in at just 155 grams and between 6.1-11.6 millimeters thick due to its curved design. The device has a 5.1-inch 720p 1280 X 720 display with 294 pixels-per-inch, along with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display. It is running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box and you get Motorola’s enhanced software features.
The new Moto G is powered by a Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 410 (MSM8916) processor with 1.4 GHz quad-core CPU, Adreno 306 with 400 MHz GPU. The 8GB variant is paired with 1GB of RAM and the 16GB variant gets 2GB of RAM. All variants of the Moto G will come with a micro SD card slot so that you can expand your storage. Motorola is saying the 2,470 mAh battery should last for 24 hours. The front of the device has a 5 megapixel camera with a f/2.2 aperture, while the back has a 13 megapixel camera with a dual LED flash and an f/2.0 aperture. The back camera can record video in iHDR, as well as slow motion.
Moto Maker means you can customize your new Moto G, the base colors will be Black or White. Motorola is offering several Motorola Shells in colors like Black, Navy, Cabernet, Golden Yellow, Lime, Cherry, Blue, Turqouise, Raspberry, Chalk. They also have Motorola Flip Shells available in Turquoise with Dark Teal, Blue with Navy, Raspberry with Cabernet, Crimson with Cherry, Licorice with Charcoal. You can certainly find a shell or two that will compliment your style and let you customize your device. With Moto Maker you can choose the accent piece, the front and back colors, and can get it engraved.
