Don’t call it Google Assistant as they have it named it yet, but it essentially is Google Assistant. Almost every single technology company out there has a smart personal assistant and Google has something similar to this currently, but they have something new. Google Assistant takes the power of Google and its many products and puts it all together in a conversational format. Think of this as combining the search box and Google Now into one cohesive product.
Google Assistant is coming in two forms, a textual one in Google Allo and a voice from in Google Home. They have customized it for each variant, in a text format you want something quickly, but with voice you want something a bit more substantial. But there are just two products that will be taking advantage of Google Assistant.
This is a very exciting new offering and I have a feeling it will expand into other areas soon. You have to remember that Google has a ton of technology behind it and they know how to use it. And like other Google products, Google Assistant will get smarter as times go on through machine learning.
