Sony’s recent New York event was topped off with the unveiling of the widely anticipated Playstation 4 Pro; which some had speculated would be named “Playstation Neo” while also receiving the shorthand label of “PS4K.” The new device features an updated design which replaces the light from the top of the system with the familiar Playstation logo and a revamped front end. Internal changes also abound, with a new processor that allows for 4K resolution and full 60fps gameplay.

Retailing for $399, the same price as the base Playstation 4, it is cheaper than a basic Xbox One and the same price as a Xbox One S “special edition”. Alongside the PS4 Pro, Sony also unveiled the PS4 Slim, which is set to retail at $299.

Trailers for upcoming games were shown at the event as well, and, in the hours following the event, they were posted on YouTube. For those with slow internet connection, or computers which may not be the most modern, these 4K trailers may have a harder time loading. However, once they do load, it is hard not to be impressed by the visual depth of the images on-screen.

Some of the games included in this lineup for the Pro are Days Gone, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Mass Effect Andromeda, and the Playstation 4 exclusive Spiderman. It is expected that later Playstation 4 exclusives will also be released with 4K compatibility. However, owners of the basic Playstation 4 will still be able to enjoy these titles, although they will not experience them in 4K.

The Playstation 4 Pro is set to release on November 15th, 2016.
