2017 is winding down, and with that, we begin to get a year in reviews being published. And for the first time, Sling TV has released one. They have chosen to share some unique data points, but also are reflecting back on a big year for streaming.

While the cord cutting market has been expanding with newcomers like YouTube TV and DirecTV Now, Sling TV has developed and rolled out new features. Probably the most significant rollout would have been the Cloud DVR. We are also expecting a streaming service from T-Mobile to come in 2018.

Sling TV began offering more channels and 92% more on-demand content in 2017– Notably there on-demand library now has more than 50,000 titles. The Walking Dead comes in as the most recorded show, Fixer Upper got the top spot of the show watched in 31 states, and The Walking Dead: Mercy was the most watched episode of a season. It will be interesting to see if these trends continue on the same track into next year.
