New Immerse from Altec Lansing: A first with Long-Lasting 100% Waterproof Technology

Quality sound even under water, Snug No-Slip Fit & Hands-Free Phone Connectivity via Bluetooth

LAS VEGAS (Jan. 6, 2015) – Finally, there’s a way to safely and directly stream music during the wettest and sweatiest workouts, even for athletes swimming laps while training for their next triathlon. Altec Lansing’s antimicrobial, submersible Bluetooth Immerse Earphones stay dry and ready to rock in practically every exercise scenario, from underwater sprints to dripping-wet sessions on the treadmill, track or weight machines.

The secret: a marine-grade IPX7-rated design with 100% waterproof components including specialized waterproof drivers. Users can be three feet under water for 30 minutes without worrying about earbud damage.

In or out of the water, the sound pours into consumers’ eardrums loud, clear and full-bodied, thanks to Altec Lansing’s legendary audio engineering.  Two 9 mm neodymium drivers, a high-end noise cancelling frequency microphone, aptX® audio coding that delivers CD-quality wireless audio over Bluetooth, and Altec Lansing’s enhanced digital signal processing technology combine to provide crystal-clear music playback.

Also contributing to the stellar sound is a tight seal in the ear created by patented hearing aid technology, including built-in fin-like projections that help anchor each bud in the ear canal. The snug fit also ensures that the buds won’t slip out of users’ ears when working up a sweat at the gym or on the road, while the antimicrobial protection keeps them free of bacteria-related stains, odors and corrosion.

Altec Lansing’s new Immerse Earphones also feature:

  • 20 hours of play and talk time, enough to last through days of working out on a single charge.
  • Two-device support, enabling any two Bluetooth-enabled smartphones, MP3 players, tablets, computers or combination to be paired with the earphones for use with two different devices that may have different music libraries.
  • A 100-foot signal range for maximum flexibility in device placement.
  • Hands-free phone use via caller ID, text-to-speech technology and a built-in microphone that lets the headphone double as a Bluetooth phone headset, making it possible to take calls on the earphones during or after workouts without getting the phone wet or sweaty.
  • An easy-wear behind-the-head housing with a padded inner lining for comfort and grip.

The Altec Lansing Immerse Earphones will ship in spring 2015 at an MSRP of $99, including a carrying pouch and USB  charging cable.
